The CK Arts Council is looking for volunteers to be venue aides.

Volunteers will support the artists / creatives hosting the venues by attending to the tasks associated with presenting at the Tour.

Having volunteer venue aides will allow the artist to focus on interacting with the public, demonstrating their work, and processing sales.

The time commitment will be 15 hours.

Volunteer duties:

• Welcome visitors

• Explain any venue rules (some sites may have delicate or fragile items displayed. Many will be hosted in the participant’s private home)

• Distribute Artist Studio Tour passports - explain the door prize draw rules

• Distribute Artist Studio Tour brochures

• Stamp Artist Studio Tour passports for visitors

• Encourage visitors to fill out the CK Arts Council guest book at each site

• Keep a running count of visitor numbers at your venue

• Act as information resources

  • you will receive a package detailing which communities in CK have venues as well as a brief description of the event and other information you might need in order to answer questions

• Hand all guest logs and visitor counts back to the venue host

For high school students, the opportunity will count toward the mandatory volunteer hours needed to graduate high school.
