CK Emerging Youth Artist Scholarship

The Emerging Youth Artist Scholarship Awards program supports Chatham-Kent high school graduates studying full-time in the arts & culture field at the post-secondary level.

This year, two awards of $1,500 each will be granted to graduating high school students from any secondary school in Chatham-Kent. In 2025, the scholarships were awarded to Tara J. Wilson to study creative writing and Ryan Tetreault to study theatre. The inaugural recipients were Teryn Romanick and Thomas Martin — both studying visual arts.

The Emerging Youth Artist Scholarship is open to students, aged 16 to 20, working and studying in all artistic and arts-related disciplines ranging from the performing and literary arts to arts administration and the recording arts. Applicants must send in their submissions by 11:59 pm April 30, 2026, to the Chatham -Kent Arts Council. Applicants must include a minimum of three works; we encourage students to submit a variety of works in their area of expertise.
