Dava Robichaud

Dava has always loved crafting and painting with—and for—her children and grandchildren. After taking a few paint night classes, she began sharing what she learned during creative “paint dates” with her grandchildren. Just before Christmas 2020, she discovered a free class focused on painting Santa. Being especially fond of the holiday season, she signed up for the micro-course. After completing her first Santa, she went on to paint several more and, inspired by the bold, expressive style, decided to fully immerse herself in learning the technique.

This vibrant approach awakened the artist within her. Dava began pushing her creative boundaries, exploring not only human subjects but also wildlife and natural scenes. She incorporated this bold style into her landscapes, eventually adding some of her favorite local and well-known destinations to her growing portfolio.

The pandemic unexpectedly sparked a deeper creative drive, and she hasn’t looked back since. With several commissions now completed, Dava continues to challenge herself and evolve as an artist. As she puts it, “Painting gives me balance, peace, and a creative calm I didn’t know was missing.” She adds, “Never in my wildest dreams did I think people would be asking me to paint for them,” yet her growing list of commissions tells a different story.
