Bryan S. Halls Studio

Bryan was born in Woodstock Ontario January 9th 1978 and moved to Chatham with his family in 1990. Bryan moved London Ontario in 1997 to attend H.B. Beal and study at Beal Art. Upon completion of his OAC year Bryan would take a year off of school and would show at the Ruth Anderson gallery in London Ontario as well as the London new arts show in 1998.

Bryan took a non-conventional way of learning and decided to go to vocational school rather than attend University at The Toronto School of art. During this time Bryan would feel the effects of Schizophrenia and by the second year at the school was expelled do to his bad behavior. He would get help with his illness 2 years later.

Art was still a important thing to Bryan but his desire to show fell off. Eventually he became a drywall carpenter and after 9 years in 2011 he would fall ill again and go on long term disability and would move to Chatham from Toronto.

In Chatham his father bought him some art supplies and Bryan didn’t look back. Soon he started showing his art in the region at the Thames art gallery, St James Presbyterian Church, Leamington Arts Center, ARTspace as well as during group shows at different venues. Today Bryan works in his home studio and creates when ever he gets the chance. Not only has he been given the chance to show his art, but it has become the main therapy for his illness.
